Making Keto Banoffee Pie
Easily make the perfect low carb banoffee pie! Follow this recipe:
Step 1
Start by preheating the oven to 350F (175C) and lining a 9 or 8-inch pie tin with parchment paper. Grease it with melted butter to avoid the pie from sticking.
Step 2
We will start by making the pie crust. Mix all the ingredients from the crust section in a bowl.
Once the dough forms, press it into the pie dish and smooth the edges.
Make small holes in the base with a fork, and bake for 6-8 minutes until it turns golden.
Step 3
Making the caramel layer is easy. Place a saucepan over medium heat. Add butter and Allulose sweetener.
Once the butter melts, stir and cook on a low simmer for 3-4 minutes.
Step 4
Lower the temperature, and add the heavy cream. Continue stirring and whisking until the mixture thickens (it should take about 10-12 minutes). Then, add the banana extract drops and mix well again.
Step 5
Allow the caramel mixture to cool for about 10 minutes. Then, pour the caramel into the pie crust. Place in the freezer for one hour.
Step 6
To make the topping, mix and whip the heavy cream and vanilla until the mixture is thick. Add it on top of the pie.
Then, grate dark chocolate (or use cocoa powder) on top.
That’s it. Enjoy this amazing keto banoffee pie- it looks and tastes amazing!
More Keto Pies
There are many keto pie recipes online. Many of them are very easy to make and taste delicious.
Treat yourself to a piece of pie and a good cup of coffee. Here are some of my favorite keto pie recipes:
- Keto Key Lime Pie
- Keto Lemon Meringue Pie
- Keto Coconut Cream Pie
- Keto Crustless Pumpkin Pie
- Keto Peanut Butter Pie
Almond Flour
The crust of this keto banoffee pie is made from almond flour. I like using this type of flour because it gives the best texture.
Almond flour is keto friendly, and it makes the crust deliciously crunchy and flavorful.
Other low carb banoffee pie recipes may suggest using coconut flour, but I think almond flour is really the way to go.
Banana Extract
I added 15 drops of banana extract to make the caramel layer really pop. Nowadays, there are so many brands that offer high-quality natural extracts that you can find in your local health food store or online.
I use these extracts in many of my keto recipes. This way- I can add special flavors without adding any carbs.
Freezing
I don’t recommend freezing this pie because the texture will be off after defrosting.
This pie is best served fresh. If you do decide to freeze it, make sure to wrap it tightly in plastic wrap and store it for up to 3 months.
Carbs
If you slice the whole pie into 12 slices – each contains 3g of net carbs. So, you can definitely enjoy this dessert in moderation!
I hope you liked my sugar free banoffee pie recipe! I think this is a great dessert, that everyone can enjoy.
