      👨‍🍳 How To Make

      Follow this easy recipe:

      Step 1

Add the low-fat cream cheese, smoked salmon, lemon juice, and black pepper to a food processor bowl. Also add the other seasonings of using.

      Step 2

Process until the mixture is smooth – it took me about 4.5 minutes. Don’t forget to scrape the sides using a spatula from time to time.

      Step 3

Transfer the mousse to a pastry bag and pipe it onto your carnivore bread or carnivore crackers. Or simply serve in a bowl.

      Step 4

Enjoy! Store in the fridge for up to 3 days.

      💡Tips

      1. The Salmon

Look for cold-smoked salmon (the flat, thinly sliced kind) rather than hot-smoked salmon (the flaky, cooked kind).

Cold-smoked salmon blends better and gives that smooth, mousse-like texture we’re aiming for. Avoid salmon that’s too dry or has dark edges – these parts can make your mousse bitter.

If your salmon is frozen, thaw it in the fridge overnight and pat it dry with paper towels before using.

      2. Processing Time

Don’t rush the processing time – those 4-5 minutes are important! Start with 2-minute processing, scrape down the sides, then continue in 1-minute intervals, scraping between each. You’ll notice the texture changing from chunky to smooth.

The mixture will look done before it actually is – keep going until it’s completely smooth with no visible salmon pieces. If your food processor starts feeling warm, give it a 30-second break between rounds.

      FAQ

      1. How long does this mousse last in the fridge?

This mousse stays good in the fridge for 3-4 days when stored properly. Keep it in an airtight container and press plastic wrap directly on the surface before putting the lid on – this stops a skin from forming and prevents the mousse from absorbing other food smells from your fridge.

      2. What can I serve this mousse with on a carnivore diet?

On a carnivore diet, this mousse pairs perfectly with carnivore crackers, carnivore bread, or pork rinds.

You can also serve it alongside hard-boiled eggs, use it as a filling for rolled-up deli meat, or even top your cooked steak with it. Some people enjoy it straight up with a spoon!
