Is Jicama Keto Friendly?

Jicama is a root vegetable that is often used in keto recipes. A cup serving of jicama has 5 net carbs.

Obviously, it’s not very low carb, but whe consumed in moderation, it can still be a part of a keto diet. It’s a great alternative to other high carb vegetables like potatoes.

Most recently, jicama is used to make chips or fries. It can also be used in salads or as a side dish.

When buying jicama, look for a firm veggie with smooth skin. Avoid any that are bruised or have blemishes.

Add Your Favorite Seasonings

I added my favorite seasonings to these air fryer jicama chips, but of course, you can add whatever you like.

I added smoked paprika because in my opinion it really gives them a nice flavor. Smoked salt can be used instead.

Carbs In Jicama Fries

A 3.5oz (100-gram) serving of these keto jicama chips has 5 grams of net carbs. So, you can eat them in moderation and enjoy.

If you also make a dipping sauce, for your chips, be sure to keep it keto-friendly as well and keep track of the carbs.

Dipping Sauces

There are many keto friendly dipping sauces that you can enjoy with your airfryer jicama fries. My favorite ones are keto hoisin sauce and avocado oil mayonnaise.

As A Side Dish

Make this amazing carnivore burger, and add the air fryer jicama fries as a side dish. It’s the perfect meal! Surprise your friends and family with these unique and delicious fries combined with a juicy burger.

Freezing

I don’t recommend freezing these jicama keto fries because they will lose their crispiness and texture.
