    Carnivore Pulled Pork Recipe

What makes this recipe special is that it works perfectly for people following a carnivore diet, but honestly, anyone who enjoys meat will love it.

The chicken broth adds extra flavor and keeps the meat juicy during the long cooking process, while the carefully chosen spices create that classic pulled pork taste we all love.

👍 Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Fall-Apart Tender: The slow cooking method ensures that your pork becomes incredibly tender. After 7-9 hours of cooking, the meat literally falls apart when you touch it with a fork.

Perfect For Meal Prep: This recipe makes a large amount of meat that stays good in the fridge for several days. You can cook it once and have delicious, carnivore friendly meals ready for the entire week.

    Pulled Pork

Simple Ingredients: Unlike many pulled pork recipes that call for sugary sauces and countless ingredients, this one only needs pork, broth, and basic spices. You probably already have most of these spices in your kitchen.

Rich In Nutrients: Pork is packed with important nutrients like protein, B vitamins, zinc, and iron.

    ✨ Recipe Ingredients

To make the carnivore pulled pork in the crock pot, you will need:

    • 4 lb Pork Butt (2kg)
    • 1 cup Chicken Broth (I recommend this one – amazon)
    • 1 tablespoon Pepper
    • 3/4 tablespoon Garlic powder
    • 3/4 tablespoon Onion powder
    • 3/4  tablespoon Chili powder
    • 1 tablespoon Smoked paprika
    • 1 tablespoon Salt

Note: While garlic powder, onion powder, and the other seasonings are not technically part of the carnivore diet, we are only using them to add flavor and season the meat. If following a strict carnivore diet, simply omit them.

      👨‍🍳 How To Make

Follow this easy carnivore pulled pork recipe:

      Step 1

Place all the seasonings in a small bowl. Mix well.

      Step 2

Place the pork in the slow cooker. Rub it with the spices.

      Step 3

Pour the chicken broth into the slow cooker and cook on low for 7-9 hours until the meat is tender.

      Step 4

Shred the meat with two forks and serve. I recommend pouring some of the juices from the slow cooker on top of the pork.

      💡Tips

      1. Watch Your Liquid Level:

While you need liquid to keep the meat moist, too much will make your pulled pork watery. Stick to the 1 cup of broth mentioned in the recipe – it might not look like enough, but the pork will release its own juices during cooking.

If you find your meat swimming in liquid after cooking, remove the meat, put the liquid in a pot, and simmer it down until it thickens slightly before adding it back to your shredded pork.

      2. The Fork Test

To know when your pork is done, try pulling at it with a fork. If it resists or feels tough, it needs more time. When it’s ready, the meat should pull apart very easily with almost no effort.

Don’t worry about cooking it too long – it’s pretty hard to overcook pork in a slow cooker on low. Better to give it an extra hour than to end up with tough meat.

      3. Let It Rest

When the cooking time is up, turn off the slow cooker, remove the lid, and let the meat rest for about 15-20 minutes.

This allows the meat fibers to relax and the juices to redistribute throughout the meat. If you shred it too soon, all those flavorful juices will run out and you’ll end up with drier meat.

      Frequently Asked Questions

      1. What if I don’t have a slow cooker?

You can make this recipe in the oven using a Dutch oven or any heavy, covered pot. Set your oven to 300°F (150°C) and cook for about 6-7 hours.

Keep the lid on tight to keep the moisture in. Check the meat every few hours to make sure there’s still liquid in the pot – you might need to add a bit more broth than the recipe calls for.

      2. Can I skip the chicken broth and use water instead?

While water will technically work, chicken broth adds a lot more flavor to the final dish. If you’re strict carnivore, make sure to use a broth without any vegetable ingredients.

You can also use beef broth or bone broth. These will all add more nutrients and flavor than plain water.

This was amazing! Easy, tasty. My local store had pork butt for BOGO. We did 2 roasts, ate it for 3 days and no one got tired of it!
