Are Roasted Pecans keto Friendly?

First of all, it’s important to understand that all nuts are relatively high in carbs. So, if you’re following a ketogenic diet, you’ll need to be mindful of your nut intake.

That said, pecans are one of the lower carb nuts. A serving of 3.5oz (100g) contains around 4g of net carbs. If you count total carbs and not net carbs, the number is closer to 14g.

Make your own batch of keto roasted pecans and enjoy their sweet and crunchy taste!

How To Choose Pecans?

Buying pecans only to realize they are dry and tasteless is really frustrating. There are also many sorts of pecans, so it can be difficult to decide which one is the best for you.

If you can taste the pecans before you buy them, that’s the best way to go. Otherwise, here are some tips:

  • Look for plump, uniform pecans.
  • Avoid any that are discolored or have mold on them.
  • Give the pecans a sniff – they should smell fresh, not musty.
  • If you’re buying shelled pecans, make sure the meat is intact and there are no pieces missing.

Spicy Roasted Pecans

You can also add different spices to the pecans before or after roasting them, such as cayenne pepper or smoked paprika.

But keep in mind that the taste may be a bit too strong for some people. If you want to give it a try, start with just a pinch of the spice and add more to taste.

Spicy roasted pecans are a great way to add some extra flavor to your snacks or meals. They can be used as a topping for keto salads and yogurt.

Why Make Your Own Roasted Pecans?

Store-bought roasted pecans are often cooked in unhealthy oils like soybean or canola oil. These oils are rich in linoleic acid, which is really bad for your health.

But when you make your own keto roasted pecans – you can control the ingredients. You can use high-quality butter and avoid those unhealthy oils.

Making sugar free roasted pecans is easy, healthy, and delicious! Try them once, and you’ll be hooked.

Keto Baked Pecans

You can also bake the pecans instead of roasting them on a pan . But, in my opinion- and this is just my opinion- the roasted pecans taste better.

If you want to bake them, preheat your oven to 375F and bake for 10-12 minutes.
