Carnivore Cheddar Chips

Today I want to share my carnivore cheddar chips recipe with you. These crispy, cheesy snacks are perfect for anyone following a carnivore diet who misses the crunch of traditional chips.

Carnivore Cheddar Chips

With just two simple ingredients – ground pork rinds and cheddar cheese – you can create a satisfying snack that fits perfectly within the carnivore diet.

The pork rinds provide a perfect crunchy base while the melted cheddar adds rich flavor that will keep you coming back for more.

My Carnivore Cookbook

And unlike store bought chips filled with carbs and questionable ingredients, these are made with whole foods you can feel good about eating.

You can enjoy them on their own as a snack, use them to scoop up carnivore dips, or crumble them on top of meals for added texture.

They store well in an airtight container, so you can make a batch and have them on hand whenever a craving strikes.

👍 Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Just Two Ingredients: This recipe only needs pork rinds and cheddar cheese. No long shopping lists or hard to find items. You probably already have these in your kitchen if you follow a carnivore diet.

Quick Preparation: From start to finish, these chips take less than 20 minutes to make. Most of that time is just waiting for them to broil and cool. The actual hands on work is minimal – just crush, mix, shape, and broil.

This makes them perfect for when sudden cravings hit or when you need a quick snack before heading out the door.

Perfect Crunch Factor: These chips deliver that satisfying crunch that many carnivore dieters miss. The combination of crushed pork rinds and cheddar creates a texture that breaks with a snap, unlike many meat based snacks that tend to be chewy.

After cooling, they firm up to give you that authentic chip experience without any plant ingredients. The crunch stays consistent even after storing them for a day or two.

      👨‍🍳 How To Make

Follow my recipe and make these crispy carnivore chips:

      Step 1

      Start by preheating your broiler.

      Step 2

If you have regular pork rinds, place them in the food processor and blend (or just use the pork rind crumbs I recommended). Then, add the cheddar cheese and pulse until everything is combined.

      Step 3

Roll small balls and press them down on the baking sheet.

      Step 4

Place under the broiler and wait until the chips melt and are browned.

      Step 5

Let them cool for 10 minutes (they will firm up). Then, enjoy!

      💡Tips

      1. Don’t Skip the Cooling Time

The 10 minute cooling period isn’t just a suggestion – it’s really important  for achieving the right texture. The chips will be completely soft when they first come out from under the broiler.

As they cool, they firm up and develop that satisfying crunch. Be patient and give them the full cooling time on the baking sheet. If you try to move or eat them too soon, they’ll just be floppy cheese discs instead of chips.

The transformation happens as the cheese structure changes during cooling – first the proteins set, then the fats firm up, creating that perfect chip like texture.

      2. Use Parchment Paper or a Silicone Mat

To prevent sticking and make cleanup easier, line your baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat before placing your cheese and pork rind mixture on it.

This ensures the chips will release cleanly after cooling. If you use parchment, make sure it’s rated for high temperatures since you’ll be using the broiler.

Regular parchment usually works fine, but avoid wax paper which can smoke or catch fire under high heat. If you don’t have either, you can grease the pan well, but be prepared for more difficult removal and cleanup.

      3. Leave Enough Space Between Chips

When placing your chips on the baking sheet, leave at least an inch of space between them. The cheese will melt and spread slightly during cooking.

If they’re too close together, you might end up with one giant cheese crisp instead of individual chips. This spacing also allows for better air circulation, which helps achieve more even browning.

Very easy to make and very tasty. I preheated my broil on low. I followed the directions but did not have time to roll each piece. I spread it thin out on a baking sheet. I broiled it for about 12 minutes. After it cooled down to firm up, I broke it up into chips. I stored them in the fridge.
