I want to share with you one of my favorite recipes – the carnivore butter burger. This isn’t just any regular burger.
It’s a juicy, cheese filled patty with a surprise inside that makes it extra special: a piece of butter that melts as you cook it, creating an incredibly juicy and flavorful burger.
With just a few basic ingredients – ground beef, cheese, butter, and some seasonings – you can create restaurant quality burgers right in your kitchen.
What makes these burgers stand out is how the butter and cheese melt together inside the patty while cooking.
When you take your first bite, you’ll understand why these are called butter burgers. The melted butter combines with the beef juices to create an incredibly rich taste that regular burgers just can’t match.
These burgers work great for anyone following a carnivore diet, but they’re equally delicious for anyone who simply enjoys a good burger.

👨🍳 How To Make
Follow this easy recipe to make the best carnivore butter burgers:
Step 1
Mix ground beef with salt, pepper, and any other desired seasonings in a bowl.
Step 2
Divide the seasoned beef into 10 portions and shape each into a patty. Place a piece of cheese and a small piece of butter in the center of each patty, then seal the fillings inside by forming the meat around them.
Step 3
Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter.
Step 4
Fry the stuffed patties until cooked to your preferred doneness, being careful not to overcook. I also like adding grated cheese on top and allowing it to melt.
Step 5
Serve and enjoy your cheese-and-butter-stuffed burgers!
💡Tips
1. Get the Temperature Right
For the best results, let your pan or grill heat up before you start cooking. A medium heat is usually best for these burgers. If the heat is too high, the outside will burn before the inside is cooked.
Remember, these burgers have cheese and butter inside, so they might flare up if you’re cooking on a grill. Keep a close eye on them and move them if needed.
2. Let Them Rest
After cooking, let the burgers rest for a few minutes before serving. This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the meat, making for a juicier burger.
If you cut into them right away, a lot of the juices will run out onto the plate. Not what we want.
You can tent some foil over them to keep them warm while they rest. About 3-5 minutes should be enough. This is a good time to prepare any sides or toppings you might want with your burgers.

FAQ
1. Can I use a different type of cheese?
You can definitely use different cheeses in these burgers. Colby Jack works great because it melts smoothly without becoming too runny, but cheddar, mozzarella, or provolone also work well.
Just make sure to choose a cheese that melts easily. Very hard cheeses like parmesan won’t give you that gooey center you’re looking for.
2. Can I make these ahead of time?
You can prepare the patties up to 24 hours in advance and store them in the fridge. Place them on a parchment lined plate or tray, cover with plastic wrap, and make sure they don’t touch each other.
If you need to stack them, put parchment paper between each layer. When ready to cook, let them sit at room temperature for about 15 minutes first.
You can also freeze the uncooked patties for up to 3 months – just wrap them well and place parchment paper between each one.
