    ✨ Recipe Ingredients

    To make the carnivore lasagna you will need:

    • Carnivore Pasta Sheets (here is the recipe)
    • 1 Egg Yolk
    • 2/3 cup Ricotta Cheese
    • 2 tablespoons Parmesan (grated)
    • 1/2 teaspoon Italian herbs
    • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper
    • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
    • 1 1/2 cups Mozzarella (shredded)

    For The Ground Beef Sauce

    • 1 pound (450g) Ground Beef 
    • 1/2 cup Bone Broth (use this borth – amazon link)
    • 1 Egg
    • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream
    • 1/4 teaspoon Salt

      👨‍🍳 How To Make

      Follow these steps to make this amazing carnivore friendly lasagna:

      Step 1

      Prepare the pasta sheets according to my pasta recipe (with small modifications: use 4 egg yolks, 1 whole egg, reducing egg white powder by 1/2 tbsp, and omitting Parmesan). Bake and let it cool.

      Then, cut pasta sheets to fit a 9×13 inch disposable aluminum pan. Each sheet should be halved and trimmed to fit the pan. 

      Step 2

      To make the stuffing-  mix ricotta cheese, egg, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and shredded Parmesan cheese until combined. 

      Step 3

      Brown 1 pound of ground beef and set aside. Drain the grease.

      Step 4

      In a double boiler, combine heavy cream, chicken broth, and egg. Whisk continuously until it thickens. Remove from heat, add grated Parmesan cheese, and stir until combined. Mix the sauce with the browned ground beef.

      From now on- I will refer to this ground beef mixed with the sauce- as “sauce”.

      Step 5

      Let’s assemble the lasagna: start with a thin layer of sauce at the bottom of the pan to prevent sticking. Place a pasta sheet on top of the sauce. Spread a portion of the ricotta mixture over the pasta sheet. Add a layer of sauce.

      Sprinkle shredded mozzarella over the sauce. Repeat layers until you have used up the pasta sheets, ending with a pasta sheet on top.

      For the final layer, add a little ricotta mixture and shredded mozzarella.
      Sprinkle freshly grated Parmesan cheese on top for a crispy finish.

      Step 6

      Bake in a preheated oven (375F) for 25-30 minutes or until the cheese is melted and top is browned. Allow lasagna to cool slightly before cutting into servings. Enjoy!

      💡Tips

      1. Brown the Ground Beef Properly

      To brown the ground beef properly, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef to the skillet and use a wooden spoon to break it up into small pieces.

      Cook the ground beef until it is no longer pink, stirring occasionally. This should take about 8-10 minutes. Once the ground beef is browned, drain any excess grease and set the beef aside.

      2. Make the Sauce Thick and Creamy

      The sauce is the heart and soul of any lasagna, and this carnivore lasagna is no exception. To make the sauce thick and creamy, you’ll need to use a double boiler. Combine the heavy cream, chicken broth, and egg in the top of the double boiler and whisk continuously until the mixture thickens.

      Once the mixture has thickened, remove it from the heat and add the grated Parmesan cheese. Stir until the cheese is fully incorporated into the sauce. The resulting sauce should be thick, creamy, and full of flavor.
