      👨‍🍳 How To Make

      Follow this easy recipe:

      Step 1

For best results, take the salmon out of the refrigerator 20 minutes before starting. Cut it into 4 pieces and pat them dry with paper towels. Season each piece with salt and pepper.

      Step 2

Add 2 tablespoons of butter to a skillet over medium-high heat. Allow it to heat for 3-4 minutes.

      Step 3

Cook the salmon with the skin side down for 4-5 minutes, then reduce the heat to medium and flip the pieces over. Cook for another 3-4 minutes. Then transfer to a plate.

      Step 4

Turn the heat down to medium-low. Add the remaining butter and let it melt. Then, add the garlic and lemon juice, and continue stirring until the garlic is just cooked.

      Step 5

Take the skillet off the heat. Add the salmon back to the skillet and spoon the sauce over the salmon pieces. At this stage, you can also add the parsley if using. Enjoy!

      💡Tips

      1. Skin-on for Extra Flavor and Nutrients

When buying salmon for this recipe, try to get pieces with the skin still on. The skin adds a lot of flavor and contains many nutrients. When you cook the salmon skin-side down first, the skin gets crispy and protects the flesh from overcooking.

It also helps keep the salmon juicy. If you’re worried about the skin sticking to the pan, make sure your pan is hot enough before adding the salmon. A drop of water should sizzle and evaporate quickly when it hits the pan.

Also, resist the urge to move the salmon around too much at first. Let it cook undisturbed for a few minutes to develop that crispy skin.

      2. Resting the Salmon

Just like with meat, letting your salmon rest for a few minutes after cooking can make a big difference. When you take the salmon off the heat, it will continue cooking for a little while.

If you cut into it right away, all the juices will run out and your salmon might end up dry. Instead, after you’ve spooned the sauce over the salmon, let it sit in the warm pan off the heat for about 3-5 minutes.

This allows the juices to redistribute throughout the fish, resulting in a more evenly cooked and juicier piece of salmon.
