      👨‍🍳 How To Make

Follow these steps to make the best carnivore baguettes:

      Step 1

Start by cracking the eggs into a mixing bowl, and separate the egg whites from the yolks. Place the yolks in the blender or food processor.

      Step 2

Use a hand mixer to beat the egg whites until the mixture is frothy and there are soft peaks.

      Step 3

Melt the butter on your stovetop, and pour into the blender with the yolks. Add ground pork and mix until a smooth paste forms.

      Step 4

Use a hand mixer to blend the frothy egg whites with the pork butter yolk mixture until the batter is smooth.

      Step 5

Fold the pork rinds and the salt into the batter.

      Step 6

Place the batter in the fridge for 15 minutes to harden a bit.

      Step 7

Form the dough into 12-inch long baguettes and place in the baguette baking pan.

      Step 8

      💡Tips

      1. Let the Batter Rest

This step is really important. This resting time lets the crushed pork rinds absorb some of the moisture from the eggs and meat.

It makes the batter easier to shape and helps the baguettes hold their form better during baking. If you skip this step, your batter might be too runny to shape properly.

While the batter is resting, this is a good time to preheat your oven and prepare your baking pan. Just don’t let the batter sit for much longer than 15 minutes.

      2. Watch the Baking Time

Every oven is a bit different, so start checking your baguettes a little before the 45-minute mark. They should be golden brown on the outside and feel firm when you gently press them. If you have an instant-read thermometer, the internal temperature should reach about 165°F (74°C).

If the baguettes are browning too quickly but aren’t cooked inside, cover them loosely with foil to prevent burning.

On the other hand, if they’re not browned enough after 45 minutes, leave them in for a few more minutes.

      FAQ

      1. Can I use a different type of ground meat?

Yes, you can use other types of ground meat instead of pork. Ground beef or ground chicken would work well too. The texture and flavor might be slightly different, but the recipe will still work.

      2. How do I know when the baguettes are fully cooked?

The baguettes should be golden brown on the outside and feel firm to the touch when they’re done. If you have a meat thermometer, the internal temperature should reach about 165°F (74°C).

If you’re unsure, you can cut into one baguette to check – the inside should be fully cooked with no raw-looking dough.

      3. Can I freeze these baguettes?

Yes, these baguettes freeze well. Let them cool completely, then slice them before freezing. This way, you can take out and thaw only what you need. Wrap them tightly in plastic wrap or put them in a freezer bag. They should keep well in the freezer for up to a month.
