Today I’m sharing a recipe for keto tuna melt patties that I think you’re going to want to make again and again.

These patties are crispy on the outside, soft and cheesy on the inside, and they’re really simple to put together. You just need a few basic ingredients and about 20 minutes total, which makes them perfect for busy weeknights when you don’t have much time to cook.
If you’re following a keto diet, you know how important it is to have easy recipes that actually taste good. Sometimes it feels like every meal needs so much planning, but this one doesn’t.

You probably already have most of these ingredients in your kitchen right now. Just canned tuna, cream cheese, eggs, and some shredded cheese. That’s really all you need to make a complete meal that fits your diet.
The cheese in these patties melts perfectly and gives them that classic tuna melt flavor without needing any bread. The cream cheese makes them really creamy and helps hold everything together so the patties don’t fall apart when you flip them.

👨🍳 How To Make
Follow this easy recipe:

Step 1
Start by preheating the oven to 400°F and lining a large baking sheet with parchment paper. Brush it with melted butter.
Step 2
Whisk the eggs in a large bowl, then stir in the shredded cheese, cream cheese, and the canned tuna (make sure it’s drained first).
Step 3
Mix until well combined.
Step 4
Shape the patties and place them on the prepared baking sheet. I made 10 patties.
Step 5
Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes. Then, flip and bake for 5 more minutes until golden brown.

💡Tips
1. Drain The Tuna Really Well
This is probably the most important step in the whole recipe. When you open your cans of tuna, don’t just quickly drain them and call it done. You need to get as much liquid out as possible.
First, open the can and press the lid down to squeeze out the obvious liquid. Then, dump the tuna into a fine mesh strainer or colander and press down on it with a spoon or your hands to push out more water.

You can even wrap the drained tuna in paper towels and squeeze it gently to get out even more moisture. If you skip this step and leave the tuna wet, your patty mixture will be too loose and watery.
The patties won’t hold their shape well, they’ll be harder to flip, and they might spread out too much on the baking sheet instead of staying in nice round shapes.
2. Let the Cream Cheese Soften First
Don’t try to use cream cheese straight from the refrigerator. Cold cream cheese is hard and difficult to mix, and you’ll end up with lumps throughout your patties instead of a smooth, even mixture.
Take the cream cheese out of the fridge at least 30 minutes before you start cooking, or even an hour if you remember. It should feel soft when you press it with your finger.
If you forget to take it out early, you can soften it quickly by cutting it into small cubes and letting it sit for 10-15 minutes, or you can microwave it for about 10-15 seconds (but be careful not to melt it, just soften it). se in some bites and none in others.

3. Mix Everything Together Completely
When you’re combining all your ingredients in the bowl, don’t just stir a few times and assume it’s done.
You need to mix everything until it’s really well combined and you can’t see separate ingredients anymore. The tuna should be broken up into small pieces and distributed evenly.
The cream cheese should be fully blended in with no white streaks or chunks visible. The shredded cheese should be spread throughout the mixture, not clumped in one area.

FAQ
What should I serve with these patties?
These patties go well with lots of keto-friendly side dishes. A simple green salad with olive oil and vinegar dressing is always a good choice – it’s light, fresh, and adds some vegetables to your meal.
You can also serve them with roasted vegetables like broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini, asparagus, or Brussels sprouts. Just toss the vegetables in olive oil, season them with salt and pepper, and roast them in the oven.
