Today I want to share with you one of my favorite carnivore snacks – carnivore twisted bacon skewers! If you love bacon (and let’s be honest, who doesn’t?), then you are going to really enjoy this recipe.

It’s incredibly simple to make, requires just one main ingredient, and the result is crispy, delicious bacon that looks impressive and tastes even better.
This is the kind of recipe that makes you wonder why you never thought of it before, because it’s so easy and so good at the same time.
What I really like about these bacon skewers is how versatile they are. You can eat them as a snack on their own, serve them as a side dish with your eggs in the morning, or even bring them to a gathering as finger food.

And of course, this recipe is completely carnivore diet friendly. There are no added sugars, no fillers, and no ingredients that don’t belong on the diet.
👍 Why You’ll Love This Recipe
Super Easy to Make: You don’t need to be a good cook to make these twisted bacon skewers.
The technique is really simple – you just twist the bacon and wrap it around a skewer. That’s the hardest part, and it’s not hard at all. If you can hold bacon with both hands and twist it, you can make this recipe.

Quick Cooking Time: From start to finish, this recipe takes about 15 minutes or less. You spend a few minutes twisting the bacon and putting it on skewers, then it bakes for about 10 minutes, and you’re done.
Perfectly Crispy Results: The wire rack method is the secret to getting really crispy bacon every time. Because the bacon is elevated on the rack, hot air can circulate all around it while it cooks.

👨🍳 How To Make
Follow this easy recipe:
Step 1
Soak the skewers in water for at least 20 minutes. Preheat your oven to 375-400°F.
Step 2
Hold a bacon slice with both hands and twist it until it forms a tight spiral.
Step 3
Wrap the twisted bacon around a wooden skewer in a spiral pattern, pressing gently so it sticks.

Step 4
Place the skewers on a wire rack set over a baking tray (this allows air to circulate for even crispiness).
Step 5
Bake for about 10 minutes until golden and crispy.
💡Tips
1. Soak Your Wooden Skewers First
This is something a lot of people forget to do, but it’s really important. Before you start twisting your bacon, take your wooden skewers and put them in water to soak for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
The reason you need to do this is because dry wooden skewers can burn in the oven. When you put dry wood in a hot oven, it can char, smoke, or even catch fire in some cases.
By soaking the skewers in water first, the wood absorbs the water and becomes wet all the way through. This moisture protects the skewers from burning while the bacon cooks.

2. Twist the Bacon Tightly
When you twist your bacon, you want to make sure you’re twisting it tight enough. A loose twist won’t hold its shape as well, and the bacon might unravel while it’s cooking in the oven.
To get a good tight twist, hold one end of the bacon slice in each hand. Then start twisting your hands in opposite directions – one hand goes forward while the other goes backward.
Keep twisting until the entire bacon slice forms a tight spiral that looks kind of like a rope or a twisted cord. You’ll feel some resistance as you twist, and that’s normal.

The bacon should look like it’s wound up tightly on itself. Once you have a good tight twist, hold onto it carefully so it doesn’t unwind while you wrap it around the skewer.
The tighter you twist the bacon, the better it will hold onto the skewer and the better it will keep its shape as it cooks.

FAQ
Can I use thick-cut bacon for this recipe?
I don’t recommend using thick-cut bacon for this recipe, and here’s why. Thick-cut bacon is stiffer and harder to work with when you’re trying to twist it.
When you hold thick bacon and try to twist it into a spiral, it often cracks or breaks instead of twisting smoothly. The thickness makes it resistant to bending, so you end up fighting with it instead of easily forming that nice tight spiral shape.
