Instructions
In a medium sized saucepan over medium-low heat, melt the butter completely, stirring occasionally to prevent burning.
Once the butter is melted, pour in the heavy whipping cream and add the salt and pepper. Stir the mixture until well combined.
Gradually add the shredded cheddar cheese while stirring.
Continue heating the mixture until it reaches a gentle simmer (do not let it boil), then immediately remove from heat. Keep stirring for another minute.
Transfer to a container and refrigerate for at least 3 hours. The spread will continue to thicken as it cools, becoming perfect for spreading.
