To make the keto pizza soup you will need these ingredients:

  • 1lb (450g) 80/20 Ground Beef
  • 1lb (450g)  Italian Sausage
  • 1/4 cup Heavy Cream
  • 8oz (225g) mushrooms (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Bell Pepper (chopped)
  • 32oz (945ml) Beef Broth
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons Garlic Powder
  • 1 cup chopped Zucchini
  • 15oz (420g) Diced Tomatoes
  • 2 cups Spinach
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon Italian Seasoning
  • 6oz (170g) Tomato Paste
  • 4oz (115g) Cream Cheese

🍕 Making Low Carb Pizza Soup

It’s so easy to make this pizza soup! Follow these simple instructions:

Step 1

Set your Instant Pot to the saute function. Grease the pan with butter and cook the ground beef. Once it’s browned, turn the instant pot off and drain the grease.

Step 2

Add mushrooms, zucchini, spinach, garlic, bell pepper, spices, diced tomatoes, beef broth, and tomato paste. Mix well for a minute (don’t turn the instant pot yet).

Step 3

Close the lid, seal the valve, and pressure cook for 12-15 minutes (not including the pressure build-up time).

Once the pressure cooker turns off and the pressure is released, add cream cheese and heavy cream on top.

Choosing Ground Beef

For this keto pizza soup recipe, I used 80/20 ground beef. This is the most common ground beef that you will find at the grocery store, and it has the perfect ratio of fat to protein for the keto diet.

You could also use ground beef that is 90/10 or even 96/4, but the soup will be a little less rich.

If you can find and afford grass-fed beef, that is the best option for this soup. Grass-fed beef has a higher ratio of omega-3 fatty acids to omega-6 fatty acids, which is better for your health.

But, if you can’t find grass-fed beef or you are on a budget, regular ground beef will work just fine.

Toppings

I add cream cheese and heavy cream to my soup, which makes it extra creamy and delicious.

You could also add shredded mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, or any other cheese that you like.
