Keto Mexican Pizza Recipe

The classic Mexican pizza at Taco Bell is well known for its combination of flavors and textures. It’s delicious. But can you eat it on a keto diet?

You can- but you will have to make your own keto taco pizza. The main difference is the tortilla.

Instead of being made with white flour, keto tortillas are made with low-carb ingredients like almond flour or coconut flour. And instead of being fried, they’re baked.

My keto Mexican pizza recipe is simple, very tasty, and perfect for your low-carb diet. Make this low carb mexican pizza with your kids – they will love it!

👨‍🍳 Keto Mexican Pizza Ingredients

For The Tortillas

1 1/2 cups Shredded Mozzarella cheese

2 ounces (55g) Cream cheese – Choose high-quality, full-fat cream cheese. I use Philadelphia cream cheese for most of my recipes.

1 Egg

1 1/4 cup Almond flour – Used in many keto recipes because it’s low in carbs.

1 tablespoon Baking powder

Toppings

1/2 pound (220g) Ground Beef- I recommend 20/80 or 15/75 ground beef. Less fatty ground beef will end up tasting dry.

1 Tomato

1/4 cup Green Onions

1 cup Taco blend cheese – made with a mix of Monterey jack cheese, cheddar cheese and taco seasoning.

1 tablespoon Mexican Spices

1/4 cup Enchilada sauce

Is This Recipe Really Keto Friendly?

This keto mexican pizza is low in carbs and high in healthy fats, making it a great option for those following a ketogenic diet.

The crust is made with almond flour, which is a low-carb flour alternative. Don’t go overboard with the toppings, though, as they can add up in carbs quickly.

Sometimes, people on the keto diet want to enjoy a treat without all the guilt. This low carb mexican pizza is the perfect answer. It’s so tasty.

💡Pin Tips And Ideas

Adding Gorgonzola Cheese

Adding Gorgonzola Cheese to your keto mexican pizza can really make it special. The bold taste of the cheese really compliments the flavors of the pizza.

Nowadays, gorgonzola cheese is very popular in the United States. You can find it in most supermarkets. If you can’t find it, you could also use blue cheese.

Use Lamb Ground Meat

You can also swap the ground beef for ground lamb in this recipe. It has a more intense flavor. Some people really like lamb, while others find the flavor to be too strong.

You can also try a mix of both lamb and beef. This will give you the best of both worlds.

I tried making this keto mexican pizza with both lamb and beef, and it was really good. The lamb added a nice depth of flavor to the dish.

Add Sour Cream

Not all people like sour cream, but I do! And I think that this keto mexican pizza really goes well with it.

So, I would recommend that you add a bit of high-fat sour cream on top. It will make this low carb mexican pizza even more delicious.
