I made this keto horseradish dip for the first time a few years ago, and I was hooked after the first bite! It’s since become a staple in our house and I always make a batch whenever we have company over.

This sauce is also great on keto burgers, keto sandwiches, and as a dipping sauce for chicken or veggies.

1/4 cup Mayonnaise – make sure the mayonnaise you are using has no sugar or other sweeteners listed in the ingredient list.

There are some brands that make highly processed versions of mayonnaise that have a lot of sugar and other unhealthy ingredients.

1/4 cup Sour Cream – use fall fat, high quality sour cream for the best flavor and thickness

1/4 cup prepared Horseradish 

1 teaspoon minced Garlic

3/4 teaspoon Salt

1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper

Making A Thicker Sauce

If you want your sauce to be thicker, just add 2 ounces (55g) of softened cream cheese. Mix the ingredients together until smooth.

I like the original recipe, but I know that some people prefer thicker sauces. If that’s you, it’s worth trying my method.

Freezing the low carb horseradish sauce is not recommended. I tried it, and the texture was really off when I thawed it out.

To make this low-carb horseradish sauce, we use mayonnaise. There are many brands that offer low carb mayonnaise. So, from this perspective, you can consider this sauce as keto friendly.

But, another important thing to consider is that commercial mayonnaise is made with soybean oil (or other vegetable oils). These oils may be keto-friendly, but in the long run- they are hurting your health.

These vegetable oils are highly processed and are rich in linoleic acid. This acid is pro-inflammatory and can be a cause of various health problems.
