Keto Chocolate Ganache Recipe

On the keto diet, chocolate ganache is a great way to satisfy your sweet tooth while sticking to your macros. If prepared correctly, it can be a very low-carb and high-fat treat.

There are many sugar free chocolate ganache recipes online. I tried three of them. One was pretty good, one was too runny, and the last one was a bit too thick.

So, I took inspiration from all three recipes to create my own sugar-free keto ganache recipe.

How To Make Keto Ganache?

It’s super easy to make this keto chocolate ganache! It only takes 5 minutes, and it’s amazingly tasty:

Step 1: Preparing The Heavy Cream

Start by adding the full-fat heavy cream to a microwave-safe bowl. Then, heat until skin is formed on top (it should take 35-45 seconds)

Step 2: Adding Cocoa Powder

While everything is still hot, add in the cocoa powder. Start whisking until you see the color change to dark chocolate.

Step 3: Adding The Sweetener 

All that’s left to do is add in the powdered sweetener and whisk. The mixture should be smooth and shiny. It’s best served immediately.

What Can I Do With Chocolate Ganache?

There are so many delicious ways to use keto ganache! You can use it to top brownies or smother them in it, you can use it as a fruit dip, or even as a topping for cakes or cupcakes.

You can alter the taste of this low carb chocolate ganache by adding salt, vanilla, or other extract flavors.

I highly recommend making chocolate brownies and then smothering them in this ganache. This desert will become a family favorite!

And the best part is that this recipe is so easy to make! You only need 3 ingredients and you can have this deliciousness ready in no time.

Can I Make It Creamier?

To make it creamier, you can add one tablespoon of softened salted butter to the ganache. Do it at the very end so that it can blend well.

I personally like the texture of this ganache without the added butter, but try it out and see what you think!

Is Cocao Powder Keto?

Cocao powder is very high in carbs (53g per 100g), but when used in moderation, it can be a keto-friendly ingredient.

There are many keto dessert recipes that utilize cocoa powder in small quantities to create a delicious, chocolatey flavor.

Add Chocolate Chips

You can add (low carb) chocolate chips to your ganache while it’s still warm. They will partially melt and create a delicious chocolatey treat.

Make sure you don’t use regular store-bought chocolate chips as they are full of sugar. Instead, opt for a sugar-free variety or make your own.


Another thing you can do is to add a little bit of vanilla extract to the ganache. It gives it a really nice flavor, which many will love.

Adding Salt

Try adding salt to your ganache to give it more depth. It’s important to not go overboard, however, as too much salt can make your ganache unpalatable.
