Carnivore Cheesy Baked Dip

This delicious cheesy baked dip has become one of my favorite dishes to make when I want something warm, filling, and satisfying.

Carnivore Cheesy Baked Dip

The mixture of tender chicken and crispy bacon adds different textures that work perfectly together. Along with the cream cheese with the sharp taste of cheddar, creating a perfect blend.

The best thing about this recipe is how simple it is to put together. You don’t need any special cooking skills or fancy equipment – just mix everything in a bowl, put it in the oven, and you’re done.

My Carnivore Cookbook

It’s the kind of recipe that’s perfect for busy weekdays when you want something good but don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen.

I especially love making this dip when following a low carb or carnivore diet. Finding good recipes that fit these diets can be challenging, but this one checks all the boxes.

It’s full of protein from the chicken and bacon, and the combination of cream cheese, cheddar, and sour cream makes it incredibly satisfying and filling. Let’s get started!

👍 Why You’ll Love This Recipe

Super Filling: This dip is packed with protein from chicken and bacon, plus three types of dairy products. It will keep you full for hours, which is exactly what you want on a carnivore diet.

Quick Prep Time: The actual hands-on preparation time is minimal – just mix everything together in a bowl and transfer it to a baking dish. Most of the cooking time is just waiting while it bakes in the oven.

Great for Meal Prep: This dip reheats beautifully, making it perfect for meal preparation. You can make a big batch and portion it out for several meals during the week. It tastes just as good reheated, so you’ll always have a satisfying carnivore meal ready to go.

Rich in Nutrients: This dish provides important nutrients that carnivore dieters need. The chicken and bacon offer complete proteins, while the dairy products provide calcium, vitamin D, and other essential nutrients. It’s not just tasty – it’s nutritious too!

    ✨ Recipe Ingredients

    • 2 cups Cooked Chicken (chopped)
    • 1 cup Cooked Bacon (chopped)
    • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
    • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
    • 16 oz Sour Cream
    • Seasonings: 1 oz Ranch Dressing Mix *

*Note: While ranch dressing is technically not carnivore-friendly, I use a small amount to add flavor. Some people prefer to stick to a 100% strict carnivore diet – and in that case, you can simply use different seasonings or omit them altogether.

      💡Tips

      1. Keep an Eye on the Top

While baking, watch for the right amount of browning on top. You want it bubbly and slightly golden, not dark brown.

If the top is browning too quickly but the dip isn’t hot enough in the middle, cover it loosely with foil and continue baking. The dip should be visibly bubbling around the edges when it’s done.

Don’t worry if it looks a bit liquidy – it will set up as it cools for a few minutes after coming out of the oven.

      2. Resting Time

Let the dip rest for 5-10 minutes after taking it out of the oven. This cooling period allows the cheese to set slightly, making the dip easier to serve and eat.

During this time, the flavors continue to develop and the texture becomes perfect – not too runny and not too firm. If you cut into it too soon, it might be too loose and runny.

      FAQ

      1. What type of cheddar cheese works best?

Sharp or medium cheddar cheese works best for this recipe because they have more flavor than mild cheddar.

Avoid using extra sharp cheddar as it can become grainy when melted. I recommend shredding the cheese yourself rather than using pre-shredded cheese.

      2. How long does this dip last in the fridge?

This dip stays good in the refrigerator for up to 4 days when stored properly in an airtight container.

The texture might change slightly after the first day – it will become firmer when cold – but it still reheats well. When reheating, do it gradually to prevent the oils from separating.

      3. Can I freeze this dip?

While you can freeze this dip, I didn’t recommend it because dairy products can separate and become grainy when thawed. However, if you need to freeze it, store it in an airtight container for up to 2 months.

Thaw it overnight in the refrigerator, then reheat it slowly in the oven at 325°F, stirring occasionally to help recombine any separated ingredients.
